After such a challenging year, it’s great to be able to bring you some really positive news – Our Malted Milkshake flavour ice cream has scooped a top 3 Star Award in the 2020 Great Taste Awards, whilst our Blackberry Clotted Cream also tempted the taste buds of the judges, winning a One Star Award.
The 3 Star accolade for Malted Milkshake is our best ever result and one to be particularly proud of as three stars were only presented to 1.6% of the 12,777 entries and are reserved solely for foods which judges consider, “extraordinarily tasty”. The judges praised Malted Milkshake’s rich, moreish, malty flavour: “There is a real nostalgic comfort to this rich ice cream, with its range of flavours and more subtle nuances. The main flavour is that of the malt syrup, but there is so much more to this. It keeps bringing wave upon wave of flavour. Very, very good and so moreish.”
It’s particularly poignant to have achieved our first ever Three Star Great Taste Award, just weeks after the founder of New Forest Ice Cream, Lawrie Jenman sadly passed away. He would have been justifiably proud of this achievement and the efforts of his team.
